Rolling on Raptors

Dropped off my truck Tuesday to get a leveling kit for the front end, and some new tires. I previously had 33" inch tires, but wanted to see if I could go a little bigger. The installation of the leveling kit allowed me to add 35" raptor tires to the truck. They sing to me driving down the road. Yes, I love my truck. Just wait till I get my Dodge Dually 3500!.

LAT1_TASK 4 and 5

I took off Wednesday to run some errands, and to put the final touches on my rough draft paper. They were looking for 10-15 pages, mine came in at 14 (including cover sheet and reference page). Using the track changes feature in word, I highlighted my errors, and than produced a short summary of  the resources I used to proof it, including Peggy reviewing it, and advice from my course mentor.I submitted it later that night and first thing in the morning, I was greeted with the news "Passed-excellent work". I love starting my day off with good news from the graders!
Task 5 was basically the finished, proofed, corrected thesis paper. Using track changes once again, I just clicked on the apply option. I also had Peggy review it one more time. She was able to catch some errors I had overlooked. This gave me some extra time to review my conclusion and add some other facts to the paper. With baited breath, I submitted my 14 page thesis paper Friday night to the graders around 8:00pm. We than sat down to watch a movie. After the  movie I just had to peek at my email so see if there  was any response from the graders; I received the following response: "interesting topic, excellent work" "congratulations on your passing of this course!" That is the way to top off an evening!
Now on to Introduction to Natural Sciences1. From what I am reading on the forums, it is a bit of a bear. Will probably start that Sunday or Monday. Have to work on my Honey-do lists today.

LAT1_TASK 4

The rough draft is taking a little longer than I originally thought. I have 7 pages and making decent progress, but I figured even though it is supposed to be a rough draft, if I get it fairly complete except for spelling and grammar errors, than for task 5 I just have to clean it up and turn it in. If things go well that will be the end of LAT1.
I took off today to run errands, so I will concentrate on getting task 4 finished today.

Bicep follow up

Well i only went to 3 of the therapy sessions for my arm. I was able to extend the arm and move my shoulder all around. I have not been wearing the sling- unless Peggy gets on to me about it. I am supposed to keep it on until I see Dr Simpson again later this month. I am healing quickly and I feel I am ready to start working out again. I will wait until I see the doctor before I do though. It has been 25 days since the surgery and I am feeling great.
I have been picking up things with my right arm, nothing "heavy" that is. I have not had any pain since the surgery, and even extending the arm out fully does not bring any discomfort. I believe it is because Dr Simpson is that good, and the fact that I have taken relatively good care of myself over the years.
I go for my check up tomorrow with Dr Simpsom and I believe he will tell me I am good to go. At least that is the way I feel. Tomorrow we will hear what the good doctor has to say. Keeping my fingers crossed!

LAT1__TASK2-and beyond

Well, task2 was not too bad. Tookme about 3 days to select a chapter to paraphrase and synthesis, and then create a reference page.Submitted it around 9pm and 6am the next morning came back passed!
Task 3 was somewhat more complicated; it called for an introduction and outline of entire thesis paper with conclusion and reference page. Spent a couple days on that and submitted it around 8:30pm and got the notice around 4am the next morning it was passed!
Now on to task 4 of this class rough draft about 10 pages with errors, than the same page with your intended corrections. Determined to get that done this weekend-wish me luck!

A special place

I love this song by Nick Drake, from the ending scene of Serendipity when John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale get back together. Just one of those songs that take you to a special place.

I never felt magic crazy as this
I never saw moons knew the meaning of the sea
I never held emotion in the palm of my hand
Or felt sweet breezes in the top of a tree
But now you're here
Bright in my northern sky.

It's been a long time that I'm waiting
Been a long time that I'm blown
been a long time that I've wandered
Through the people I have known
Oh, if you would and you could
Straighten my new mind's eye.

Would you love me for my money
Would you love me for my head
Would you love me through the winter
Would you love me 'til I'm dead
Oh, if you would and you could
Come blow your horn on high.

I never felt magic crazy as this
I never saw moons knew the meaning of the sea
I never held emotion in the palm of my hand
Or felt sweet breezes in the top of a tree
But now you're here
Bright in my northern sky.

LAT1-Continued

Well I turned in my annotated bibliography Monday evening completing my first task in this course. Tuesday morning I received the news that it was returned with a grade of "excellent"!
It was quite a task, finding 10 reputable sources for my thesis statement, along with 150 words about each source and author. When I look back, I made it harder than it had to be, so moving forward I will build on that experience and move through the tasks quicker when possible.
Ok then, on to task 2-paraphrasing and synthesis of one of my chosen sources chapters.Woo hoo!

Bicep-tendon follow-up

July 1st@5:45am I strode into the surgical center, and a couple hours later I was wheeled out to go home. Re-attaching the Bicep tendon to the right shoulder wad performed with no problems. In fact Dr Simpson (who performed the original surgery 2 years ago) was able to use two of the old scar holes to go back in and clean up the dangling tendon in the shoulder.
We stopped at a Starbucks on the way home as my reward for the surgery. I slept for a couple hours than went outside for a walk. My arm and shoulder was still relatively numb, so I just relaxed and watched a movie.
Stopped the pain meeds Saturday. Primarily because I did not have any pain, and I do not like the feeling of being "medicated".
Sunday morning the bandages came off. Part of the tape covered my right pectoral muscle and nipple. Needless to say I received a Brazillian wax that morning! Felt good being able to take a shower and look at my arm.I had two diagonal stiches on my upper Bicep that looked like two black hairy caterpillars.
Tuesday back to the doctor for a check up and remove the stiches. I am able to raise the shoulder as long as I keep my arm supported. As long as I do not attempt to lift anything with my right arm, I can move it about as much as I can tolerate. Doc says I am healing quickly and wants me to start doing physical therapy on my shoulder and in 3 weeks for my arm.
Friday I went to the re-hab center and the tech moved my right shoulder through the whole range of motion with no pain. I will continue that for a couple weeks combined with shoulder shrugs, and shoulder rolling motions at home. I think the real fun begins when I start moving and flexing my Bicep. I am sure there will be "growing" pains associated with the tendon growing into the bone.
If my last shoulder surgery and tendon repair is any indication, I should proceed fairly quickly and be good as new in no time.
